Das 7. Studio-Album der aus San Carlos (California / USA) stammenden Power/Thrash Metal Band IMAGIKA hört auf den Titel "Portait Of A Hanged Man" und reiht sich Nahtlos an die geilen Vorgänger Alben an!!! Geboten wird immer noch der brachiale Sound zwischen harten Power Metal und der rohen Gewalt des Thrash Metals. Das Gitarren Duo Steve Rice und Robert Kolowitz hauen einem nur so die hammerharten aber stets melodisch Riffs um die Ohren, so das man zwangsläufig Headbangen muss. Dabei zimmert die Rhythmusfraktion um Basser Jim Pegram und Drummer Henry Moreno alles in Grund und Boden. Aber überallem steht der Ausnahme Könner am Mikro Norman Skinner. Ich habe so das Gefühl, das Norman Skinner von Album zu Album immer besser wird und seinen Gesangstil unheimlich erweitert. Zu hören ist das deutlich bei dem Song "G.H.B." oder den Album Opener "Scared To Death", wo er mit einer Leichtigkeit von seinem Ihm eigenen Höhen in tiefe Growls wechselt. Die fast 54 Minuten von "Portrait Of A Hanged Man" gehen straight nach vorne und im Nu vorbei.......so das einem nur eines bleibt, die Repeat Taste am CD Player zu drücken. Ich für mein Teil bin ja schon seit dem Debüt ein Fan von IMAGIKA, kann aber jeden Metal Fan der auf harten Power/Thrash Metal steht, "Portrait Of A Hanged Man" nur empfehlen. Mich überzeugt dieses silberne Langeisen von der 1 bis zur letzten Minute voll ganz.

The 7th studio album of the San Carlos (California / USA) – born Power/Thrash Metal band IMAGIKA ceases of the name "Portait Of A Hanged Man" and gets smooth in line to the awesome previous albums!!! They still offer the brute sound between hard Power Metal and the raw power of Thrash Metal. The guitar duo Steve Rice and Robert Kolowitz throw us the smashing, but always melodic riffs in our faces so that you have to headbang inevitably. While the rhythm fraction around bassist Jim Pegram and drummer Henry Moreno timber everything lock, stock and barrel. But beyond all stands the exceptional artist on the mic Norman Skinner. I have the feeling that Norman Skinner gets better and better from album to album and that he incredible extends his vocal style. You can distinct hear this at the song "G.H.B." or the album opener "Scared To Death" where he alternates with an ease from his own vocal heights to low – pitched growls. The almost 54 minutes of "Portrait Of A Hanged Man“ go straight forward and are over in a moment......so that only one thing remains. To push the repeat button on your cd player. I for one am a fan of IMAGIKA since their debut album. But I can only recommend "Portrait Of A Hanged Man“ to every Metal fan who likes hard Power/Thrash Metal. This cd convinces me thoroughly from the first to the last minute.
